I don’t know about you, but one of the first things that my husband and I do at the beginning of the year is schedule out our vacations. What we have learned over time is that by doing this we are acknowledging the importance of taking time to reconnect, to relax and to let our bodies and minds disconnect from the fast pace of work and day to day activities. Our ‘down time’ is just as important as our work schedule. Research shows that employees who take regular vacations and time off, suffer less burn out and function better in the work environment.
